Tortoise, A few snaps. Your views on Photoshop.

Hi guys.

I'm going to start my first proper post off with some photography work of my Tortoises. I got these photos in the summer. My tortoise have a patch of artificial grass, I know its not the same as the real deal, but we have a yard. Don't worry, there 'house' is big enough!

My tortoise are two and a half year old Spur Thighs.

This is one of my favourite shots. They eat that type of plant, so I thought I'd stick it on their shells, transport their own food about. They were walking together, on their patch of grass. I love the bright colours of the flowers and the fact the tortoise look like they're close. Not close as is there walking close together, close as in there are the only tortoise in the house so they stick together! I used my Nikon D3100 to take this, and possibly my 18-55 Nikkor lens.

Above, this is the aftermath of eating tomato. You can see some of the tomato on the 'leg' (I'm not sure what they are called) and on the face. I was in macro mode using the Tamron 70-300 zoom/macro lens. My intended focus points were its face and the front of the shell. I think I captured it how I intended too. Its also nice that the background only has one colour.

I couldn't alter the settings on blogger to enlarge this one for some reason. This is a different shot to the first one. The tortoise to the right is more in focus, the tortoise to the left isn't my main focus point. It was a shot that was good, but I wanted both tortoise in the centre of my picture. I used Photoshop Express Editor to Colour Pop the picture, giving it the black and white background and the colourful flowers.

I don't actually use Photoshop for a lot of things. I do for watermarking, and just for Colour Pop, or changing photos black and white, unless stated otherwise.

1) I like to take photos and show you them as they are. I want to be able to use my camera properly. Not snap a photo and alter everything on Photoshop. That's how I roll...
2) I'm shit on Photoshop.

This is a small selection of my tortoise photos. Obviously I'd be here all day uploading them all! I hope you enjoyed this blog post, feel free to comment your advice, ideas or anything (within reason!)

Thanks for viewing! Much appreciated!

Hello, Holla, Bonjour, Ciao, Hallo. I'm KerrieLBrown Photography, :)

Hi,

Welcome to my blog!

I'm going to be using it as a way of sharing my photography to the world! (Not keep though, my images are copyright to me!)

I'll be sharing my amazing ones, my good ones, my not so good ones, my this-is-terrible-how-can-you-help-me ones.

I have a lot to upload. I want to try and show you how I started off. For now, I'll type to you all how I started off.
I started with a Kodak digital camera. A Kodak Z1485 IS. 14MP 5xOptical zoom. It was awesome! I captured images I didn't think I could with this camera. It might have just been a digital camera but it was responsible for me getting into the world of photography!

Since then I bought a Samsung PL221. I boasted more then what I originally had on the Kodak. My Kodak was breaking, I couldn't quite take a photo, it would crash and erase the last photo. I didn't have enough money for DSLR. The Samsung, I didn't like.

I am now a proud owner of a Nikon D3100 and Nikkor 18-55 and Tamron 70-300 Zoom/Macro.

Obviously, I wouldn't be able to end the first post to Blogger without a photo. This is Holly, she's my 10 year old Collie. She hates getting her photo taken, so it makes it even harder. I decided to switch into manual mode for the first time since owning my DSLR. I thought it would be hard. Really hard. I was surprised. I really like manual mode. It was taken with the Tamron 70-300.

Thank you for viewing, follow along! Feel free to comment and pass on your advice, every bit helps!
